WARNING ORDER:



Situation:

While the war has ended the hostilities have not. US forces continue to be harassed by the remnants of the Iraqi regime, Islamic extremists and every other group with a grudge. From a quick clean war to a long dirty peace. US forces are stretched a little thin by all the commitments around the globe.

Mission:

While the 718th TFW and it's supporting elements have been ordered to a lesser alert state, the continued strife in the Iraqi AO has necessitated continued ops with more of a support than combat orientation. The 718th's forces are to maintain a readiness posture that will permit an immediate ramp up of operations should the situation warrant it.   Additionally the 718th CFU is to be prepared to immediately reinitiate combat operations upon notification by higher. Unit NBC SOPs, along with logistic preparations are at a reduced wartime tempo. With the continued uncertainty inherent in the current situation the 718th TFW is to be ready to carry out ANY and ALL possible missions from Humanitarian assistance to full on high intensity combat operations in a possibly NBC environment. Threats are possible from AL Qaeda and Taliban Forces as well as the  remnants of Iraqi forces and are not limited to the actual Iraqi/Persian Gulf theater of operations.

Execution:

The 718th TFW will deploy for training and readiness ops as per 718th TFW SOP at 1000hrs on Saturday, 27SEPT03. Missions will include but not be limited to, CAS, CAP, BARCAP and Wild Weasel. . Additionally, supporting elements will stand by to render possible Humanitarian aid.

The 718th CAV will continue conducting raids on suspected hostile forces action can consist of anything from raids, ambushes, assaults and airfield defense to peacekeeping or humanitarian missions. NBC SOPs will be practiced and updated and NBC equipment readied for instant use

Service and Support:

Equipment is per unit SOP, Networkable PC, (w/ card preferably installed before the meet, if needed techs will assist in setup operations upon arrival in theater ) Flight gear consisting of Milspec Joystick, Throttle and Rudder assembly, Headphone with mike if possible. Roger Wilco should be installed if you have it. Note; some of the wings monitors are predeployed in theater and there are a few extra but availability is limited so coordinate with the S-3 at this station as to availability. Please have as many sims as possible with you.

Platforms utilized will most likely be FB, possible Falcon 4, BHD and Operation Flashpoint for ground ops. Make sure that you at least have those on hand if not installed.

Rations will self deploy with the wing as per SOP, consisting of, but not limited to, Hot A's, T rations, chips, dips, beverages and pogey bait. In addition SOCOM has indicated that there are pizza assets in theater that can be accessed via unit SOP. Funds should be on hand for possible resupply and requisition ops.

Maintenance is as per 718th TFW SOP.
