718th TFW Netmeets have been getting hotter than ever. Between Skater's Real-Battle-Damage (tm) monitor, the ingress to the meet (NYC driving), and Beltfed's fusebox, it's starting to look like a real war!
Circa 1996
Besides meeting twice a week
on the internet, the 718th officially meets twice a month in person to play the latest
flight sims by LAN. Improved performance, along with the thrill of hearing your
victims' screams in surround sound, make even the most intense internet play pale in
comparison.
The 718th practices team
play as well as head to head with each sim. Recent favorites are Falcon 4, EAW
(which we beta'd!) and WW2 Fighters. In addition we also get dirt nasty with ground action
like Delta Force and Rainbow 6 from time to time
Netmeet sound files!
"Negative, 'K?"
Now available for
public download are declassified mission voice recordings from various 718th deployments
in the past. Specific locations cannot be mentioned for security reasons, but you
can bet the action was hot! Careful, however, since pilots based in New York tend to
sound a lot like sailors. :)
Three vs. three (RealAudio, 171k) - listen in as Slice,
Skater, and CO Roustabout take on the
powerhouse team of Beltfed, Teegra, and Predator. Listen
closely as the webmaster teaches his foes that they're never safe while he's in the air -
not even after they've ejected! Please note that although you can hear both teams in
this audio file, the opposite sides cannot hear each other.
*NEW* Heavy Damage Remix: extended
version (RealAudio, 477k)

"Skater's out of the aircraft..." (RealAudio, 541k) Once again Slice, Skater and Roustabout take on the unbeatable team of Beltfed, Teegra, and Predator, with disastrous results. Listen in as our former CO watches his team get wiped out while hanging from his parachute.
"Are we using jammers yet?" (RealAudio, 390k) - Skill, technology, teamwork, and expletives aren't enough to save a detachment of 718th pilots flying F16's against a heavily escorted strike package somewhere in Eastern Europe.
Vintage Falcons (RealAudio, 231k) - In this classic
engagement, the 718th goes 2v2 in F16A's,
using the venerable Falcon 3.0, the sim upon which the
Skyscrapers were founded. Again, you can hear both sides, but they cannot hear each
other.
